Student final presenation. Students present their work to an industry panel. and industry provide written and verbal feeback Awards are selected and these are presented to stuent at a special presentation night....
Really like the story boards for their designs. We use them as well for hair designing, particularly if they are working collaboratively with makeup artisits and fashion/film/photo designers.
Thank you, students use a collaboration of hand and computerised drawing techniques. One of our students used hair and makeup students for her photo shoot, the hair, make up and outfits were very impressive.
Yes, 3 of these 4 received awards... we had 12 Diploma (2nd year) students present and 13 Certificate IV (1st Year) students. Industry were very impressed!
Sounds like a great achievement. What do your students do once they've completed the Diploma? Is there work locally? Or do they start their own businesses? Or further study? Or...?
It is an excellent achievement! A lot of students will find employment locally (Sydney CBD), a handful will be continuing their studies in costume design and the Advanced Diploma at Ultimo (Sydney TAFE as, we don't offer these courses) One very talented student has applied for the well known NITA (Australia's National Institute of Dramatic Art) in costume design. They only take 4 students a year and the student/teacher ratio is 1 teacher to 4 students. Very different to our 15 students to 1 teacher! a few will start their own fashion design businesses/ custom made/couture/ bridal companies.
How did it go, did they get any awards?
